Delicious Summer style Beans

time to make is about 3 hours (most of which is slow cooking in the crock pot).
I guarantee this recipe is better than any other you may know. If you
think otherwise after trying this recipe, then I would believe your personal
taste in food is of question. This is a good side dish to your favorite
summer foods such as hot dogs and hamburgers. It is a good recipe to bring
to a picnic or get-together.
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 1 pound of bacon cut up into chunks
- 1 onion chopped
- 4 cans of "pork n beans" (any brand)
- 2 cans of butter beans (lima)
- 2 cans of red kidney beans
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of molasses
- 1/2 cup of ketchup
- 3 teaspoons of dry mustard (powdered)
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
You can easily cut this recipe in half for a smaller serving
- Using a very large pot; brown the
ground beef and then add bacon and onion and sauté. Drain.
- Add meat and onion to crock pot, add rest of ingredients. Cook
on low for a few hours and then enjoy!
- As a side note, you can skip the crock pot step by adding all
ingredients to a large pot and bring to a boil. Once at boil, keep warm
and serve.
Makes many servings.
