UBI SOFT - E3 2002
Ubi Soft's booth was really
pushing Rayman, a character I could care less about. A couple of
S.W.A.T. team members were at a kiosk showing repelling equipment and
hanging upside down. After inspection I saw their Tom Clancy game
and was invited to come play it. It was both fun and easy to play.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Raven Shield
- Ubi Soft had a 4 player game going on (last man standing). When
I tried it, it was surprisingly easy to pick up. One of the
developers was explaining the functions to me when I walked up to a
door and tapped the space bar to open it. He asked if I had
played it before and I said no, but the controls seemed intuitive.
The action was good and the weapons were very realistic. Heavy
machine guns required you to smoothly but consistently push the
mouse forward to counter the kick of the gun. At one point I
had ran out of ammo while chasing an opponent and he ran out
too. We sat there and faced each other holding our
weapons. I saw his character reach into a pouch, pull out a
clip and begin to load his gun (which takes a 4-5 seconds). I pressed
"2" on the keyboard and whipped out my pistol and finished
him off. That made the employees laugh. I had a blast
playing it... seemed tight with lots of weapons, grenades and
goodies. This game is for the PC.
