NAMCO - E3 2002
Namco had the usual booth
setup with round kiosks where you could play games. Not too many
surprises on the show floor, but if you were lucky enough to get in their
back room area you were presented to a personal demo of Dead to
Rights. Attendees also got a chance to play the game and while a
little complex at first, it is really cool and worth every ounce of effort
to learn. We even got T-shirts for playing the best game at the
show! Sweet!

Dead to Rights - Lucky
me! I had scheduled an appointment with Namco prior to E3 to
get a personal look at Dead to Rights. This X-box gem is
awesome! Everything about the game is top notch... the story
of Jack Slate, a cop who has been setup. Not original, but it is
presented well and the dialog, intense action are all excellent.
'Jack' even has a K9 unit you can use to explore unreachable areas
and to disarm baddies. The K9 brings back their weapon for you
to use! You accumulate a meter that allows you to do Matrix
style bullet time jumps, allowing you to take on a lot of enemies at
once. You can also use bad guys as human shields while you
waste targets further away. This game is part Max Payne, Grand
Theft Auto 3, 100% violent and 100% awesome. This game is for
X-box owners only. |

Pacman
World 2 - I played
this game at last years
E3 show and now the game has been completed and a new
Gamecube version was on the show floor. The Gamecube
version is practically the same except the graphics are
sharper and there is a lot of anti-aliasing, so all the
edges are smooth as silk (If Namco can do it, why can't
Nintendo figure it out for their games?!) Anyway,
Pac Man World 2 is a great game that plays like Mario
Sunshine. Perhaps a bit simpler, but it may be just
as fun. After playing it at the show I realized it
would be a good game to own and play through. that's
saying a lot coming from someone who's apartment is
bursting at the seams with unbeaten/unplayed games.
Pac Power!
