Only the elite make it this far.  This is best of the best that E3 had to offer.  If you are a hardcore gamer, and want to know what to put on your Christmas list this year, then look no further.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein for the PC - 8 screen shots, all in game sequences (no CGI)

Return to Castle Wolfenstein - The development team at Activision have their hands on a winner this year.  Every year at E3 there are a couple of titles that really standout.  While this is not overly innovative, they have certainly taken an overplayed genre and created a game that just makes you want to stare.  Wolfenstein has realistic graphics, the best to date from what I could see.  The game had that "environment" feel that a lot of games want to achieve, but usually fail to do.  Single player campaign and a nice multiplayer version will keep the hardcore gamer busy for weeks!
Metal Gear Solid 2 - Back again this year, but this time almost complete.  Konami had a long teaser vide that showed a lot more of the game and its Tom Clancy like special effects.  The Playstation 2 is looking to be perhaps the dominant system with its great lineup of games, Metal Gear Solid 2 being on the top of the list.  Gameplay looks to be very rich and people will have a great time blending their strategy between stealth and all out firepower.  Expect heavy sales of this game this fall.
Final Fantasy X - Luckily, I was able to skip the huge line to go directly into Square's movie room and see their trailer for Final Fantasy X.  From what is seen, Square leaves out no detail and the first FF game on the Play Station 2 is everything you want it to be.  Graphics are amazing (as usual) and the story looks to be involving and details.  I expect a lot out of this title and it will certainly entertain gamers of all flavors this X-mas.
