What is E3?

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, often referred to as "E3", is the video game industry's single time where each company at attendance goes full throttle into the remainder of the year by showing off their work and what they plan to release over the next year. E3 is important, because this is the place where major buyers of large retail chains go to make their Christmas season purchases. In many ways, E3 can make or break a company. In addition to software makers, are 3D accelerator developers, like 3Dfx, and hardware makers of home video game systems, like Sony, Sega, and Nintendo. If you are a fan of video games in any way, going to E3 may be your life goal, it must be seen first hand to be believed.

The Georgia Dome The Georgia Dome and Convention Center have been chosen once again in May of 1998 to host the "E3" Electronic Expo. The Atlanta location has several benefits over its previous LA location. Larger floor space and less attendees provide more opportunities for 1 on 1 conversations with the designers of games.
